MEET PAPAGAYO
En Venezuela, la palabra papagayo tiene una riqueza cultural inmensa.
Depending on where you are, papagayo can mean two very different things.
In much of the world, it means a colorful parrot. In Venezuela, it means a handmade kite - paper, sticks, string, and a little imagination.
We loved that one word could hold both.
We create the world. We give it the first push.
You hold the string.
That is how we think about stories: made to wander, but always carrying a little piece of home.

Pedro L Rodriguez Taddei
Co-founder, author, and illustrator
Pedro’s mind runs on dreams, adventure, and creativity. As an industrial designer, turning ideas into real, tangible things comes naturally to him. For Papagayo, he helps transform words, memories, and strange little ideas into worlds readers can actually see.
Viviana Moreno Ferreira
Co-founder, author, and illustrator
Vivi’s mind runs on curiosity, adventure, connection, and wonder. As a pediatric occupational therapist, children and the ways they learn, feel, imagine, and connect are at the heart of her world. For Papagayo, she brings together storytelling, childhood, and her instinct for the emotional heart of every adventure.
Why This Story Matters
PAPAGAYO began with a story we needed to tell.
After the June 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela, we
watched our homeland suffer from far away and wanted to turn that love, grief, and hope into something meaningful.
So we created “Beyond the Moving Mountain” — a story rooted in Venezuela, adventure, friendship, and wonder.
That story became the beginning of PAPAGAYO: a place for stories that help kids stay curious, brave, hopeful, and willing to dream out loud.
For the remainder of 2026, 50% of the profit from every copy of “Beyond the Moving Mountain” sold, is donated to We Love Foundation and Hogar Bambi in support of children & families affected by the 2026 Venezuela earthquakes.
